PopEye Partners

The PopEye project consists of 13 partners from 11 Member States, ensuring multi-disciplinarity, scientific and technical excellence, and balanced expertise from all relevant fields of
biometric technologies and border management. Partners are grouped in 4 categories: Research Institutes and Universities, European Associations, Large Entities and SMEs (Small and
Medium Enterprises), and Practitioners.

Research Institutes & Universities

Our academic partners are renowned European research institutes and universities due to their specialised research, with state-of-the-art capabilities and infrastructure as well as
scientific, legal, and ethical expertise. Their innovative input is vital to overcome current limitations in border management technologies and strike a fair balance between enhanced
security and fundamental rights.

European Associations

Our partners from civil society are dedicated to advance the field of biometrics in Europe and create a network for researchers, industry professionals, and policymakers to collaborate,
exchange knowledge, and promote the responsible and ethical use of biometric technologies.

Large Industry Entities & SME(s)

Our industry partners are world-leaders in identity and security solutions and software systems integration, with experience working with technologies powered by AI and Machine
Learning. Their combined efforts will support benchmarking and standardisation efforts and ensure that our offer is efficient, reliable, accurate and well-suited to address the most
significant challenges faced by practitioners today.

Practitioners

At its core, PopEye is a user-centric project that places a strong emphasis on addressing the operational needs of travellers and practitioners. To achieve this goal, Border Authorities
will be involved as provide input as partners throughout the project, from its design and setup to its validation campaigns, engaging with their operational needs and requirements at
every step of the way.
