Executive Summary

The key objective of the PopEye (‘robust Privacy-preserving biOmetric technologies for Passengers’ identification and verification at EU external borders maximising the accuracY, reliability and throughput of the rEcognition’) project is to enhance security at EU borders by implementing advanced biometric technologies for on-the-move identity verification while also improving the travel experience. Outcomes of the project are at first of technical but also of non-technical nature and affect almost all work packages of the project.

To maximise the impact of the project, communication, dissemination, exploitation and standardization activities of the project are of utmost relevance and require the active support and contributions from all project partners. The work packages WP10 (“Communication, Dissemination and Exploitation (M1-M18) and WP11 (“Communication, Dissemination and Exploitation (M19-M36) encapsulate these activities during the first and the second half of the project duration respectively. Hereby, WP11 continues the work from WP10 and builds upon respective results after month M18, setting hereby however different priorities of work.

WP10 covers the following key fields of activities:

• Dissemination and communication activities including the development of a respective strategy
• Strengthening existing links with external stakeholders.
• Development of the exploitation strategy and the market framework
• Provision of policy recommendations on biometric technologies and contribution to relevant
  standardisation bodies.

This deliverable, D10.2 “Dissemination, communication, exploitation and standardisation – Interim version”, describes the work done and respective results of WP10 during the period of month M01 to month M18 with the end of WP10. After that the work of WP10 will be continued in the scope of WP11. The final results will be presented in deliverable D11.1 “Dissemination, communication, exploitation and standardisation – Final version” due at month M36.
